Ancient Flow

Ancient Flow was one of those paintings that gradually found its own direction as I worked. I began with deep olive green, antique gold and softened bronze, building the surface through multiple layers and allowing the raised lines to travel naturally across the piece.

As it developed, those lines began to remind me of contours within the earth—rock formations, distant landscapes and the paths created by nature over time. They also made me think about the changing course of life and how we rarely follow one completely straight route.

What I especially love about this painting is how much it changes with the light. At different times of the day, new textures appear and the metallic tones move from deep and atmospheric to warm and luminous.

For me, Ancient Flow has strength and depth, but it also brings a sense of calm. I created it to be something you can lose yourself in and continue discovering over time.
